T.E.E.N.

(Theatre Educating and Entertaining Now)

Spotlight T.E.E.N. is dedicated bringing issue-oriented, topically relevant productions to a 12 to 18 year-old audience. Productions are age-appropriate and topically relevant and highlight issues all young people deal with on a day-to-day basis. Shows are developed from interviews with teens in the Missouri DYS program, all of whom have received training in voice, movement and acting from some of St. Louis' most prolific actors.

LIMITED ENGAGEMENT

In the fall of 2008, Spotlight T.E.E.N. will once again offer WASTED, by Margeau Baue Steinau for school bookings. WASTED (appropriate for boys) is the story of three young men whose lives are drastically changed after an act of gang violence. They are visited by the Ghost of the victim and enlightened about how their lives will proceed if they do not change their paths. Written in the metre of Shakespeare, the play includes contemporary movement, music, and slang.

WASTED is available to tour beginning October 27, 2008 for two weeks only! All performances include a post-show workshop with the actors and an Educator Study Guide with curriculum in the areas of writing, multi-media projects and creative dramatics.
